„We love Africa“

the initiative from 32 cities for the World Cup 2010

With the support of an internationally renowned team of doctors and African clinics we want to realise our slogan "We love Africa" by giving medical help free of charge and in an honorary capacity to African children in need during the World Cup 2010. We see this event as a great chance and as our duty to link enthusiasm for sports and readiness to help in a positive way.

For each qualified nationalteam one city is going to collect money for the operation on a poor African child.

32 National Football Teams +

32 VIPs +

32 committed cities/communities

= 32 medical operations for needy poor children in Africa/South Africa

Our concept seeks to render medical help to 32 children - for each of the 32 football nations taking part in the World Cup one child will undergo an operation free of charge. For each child a public figure from sports, culture or politics will act as "godfather". We want to win the support of 32 cities to join our project and help a child in Africa.

These cities are meant to develop campaigns and initiatives with one goal  We love Africa

What is the aim? What will we do?

Every city is obliged to give the first 8,000 Euro of collected donations to the aid project "We love Africa". The 8,000 Euro are used to cover the costs for the operation of an African child in need during the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. These 8,000 Euros include administrative fees for the organisation of the relief project "We love Africa", such as office fees, setting up an internet presence, advertising material, licences, other fees etc.

The donations exceeding those 8,000 Euros are distributed by the relevant city. For example, "City A" decides to support a nursery school in Tansania, "City B" wants to support a primary school in Kenia and so on. It is a precondition for all cities to invest the donations into long-term projects in Africa.
